Meet The Artists: Barbora Bezděková, Czech Republic

This new Meet The Artists post takes us to Prague, the Golden City and home of the make-up artist Barbora Bezděková.

Recognisable by her hot pink hair, Barbora is a glowing fan of Embers (a classic, majestic Eau de Parfum from our Provenance Tales collection) and would love to recreate iconic Ziggy Stardust looks with modern-day textures.

1. What was the first ever RBR product you have used? What was your impression?
The very first product I used from RBR was the perfume Embers and it instantly got my heart! I'll never get enough of it and it'll stay as my iconic fragrance for day and night wear no matter which year season it is!

2. What is for you a perfectly beautiful skin and what do you do to achieve the look?
The flawless skin for me isn't about the perfect coverage and powdered look but mostly about a healthy glowing appearance with this natural naked-like and see-through finish effect.

To achieve this fresh look I use several customized products applying them in very thin layers such as high quality primers (Original Skin Primer GENESIS), gentle liquid highlighters (Highlighting Liquid SEAS OF ILLUMINATION) mixed with or as a base for liquid foundation (MILK AQUARELLE) applied in delicate amount to get the gentle coverage finished by a hint of semi-matt bronzing powder (Bronzing Glow Powder). Professional tools are definitely needed for any flawless application.

3. What is your favourite RBR product and why?
It's very difficult to tell because I love many RBR products... But my absolute must-have is the brightening liner duo – never leave home without it because it's a perfect multifunctional product that saves all of the situations such as tiredness or no time issues.

4. Which make-up artists do you find particularly inspiring and why?
I get inspired mostly by art and moods I get from different events and experiences but if I should choose one name it would be Kabuki – a great master in our field with out of the box thinking, visionary, and always pushing the boundaries with his work!

5. Who would you love to do make-up for, and why (a living person or an icon from the past)? What look would you go for?
I love all kinds of periodical MUs which can completely change the appearance of any person completed by matching hairstyle and clothing so I would definitely go with an icon from a past such as Brigitte Bardot or David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust period.

I would keep the base of their looks recreating it in a bit modern and contemporary way in a sense of using better textures and application processes.

Thanks, Barbora!
